Scouting has been an intricate part of the ministry of Lowe’s United Methodist Church since 1944 with the original Troop 98. We are proud to announce that Troop 98 is back, alive, healthy, and active! In October of 2007, the United Methodist Men of our church sponsored a new Cub Scout Pack, for boys 1st through 5th grades, and a Boy Scout Troop, for boys 6th through 12th grades.
Statistics tell us that boys who go through scouting are much more likely to be successful in life, and have a well rounded and positive outlook. They are more likely to be active in their communities and in their churches. They are more likely to volunteer and work for the welfare of others less fortunate. These are just a few of the reasons that we see Scouting as a ministry for the people of our community.
